Sustainability

Our three pillars of sustainability

SUSTAINABILITY

Our three pillars of sustainability

We believe in the ‘power of place’ to transform the lives of individuals and communities and are acutely conscious of the environment we share. We carefully consider the impacts of how we build, the materials we use, and the energy we consume which has led us to operate under three pillars of sustainability. Within these pillars – by implementing the latest technologies, using natural and durable materials, and limiting the impact of every development – we aspire to build homes that will perform well for people both today and in the future.

BUILDING BACK BETTER
Our carbon zero strategy
We work with analysts to reduce the carbon footprint of our work, on-site, and build practices, and assess how the buildings we develop perform for homeowners. The outcomes include using local, regional and ‘near-sourcing’ of materials and products, replacing or eliminating gas in all of our current and future builds, and using natural, durable, and low carbon materials wherever possible. As well as reducing operational impact on waste created on-site, we also minimise operational impact in our office environment. Where impact cannot be avoided, we offset carbon through carefully curated investments that have both short and long-term results.

BUILDING BACK BETTER

Our social awareness strategy

Wherever we build, we build back better. We do this by acquiring sites where we know we can add value, often targeting derelict, brownfield, and former commercial sites for the purpose of rejuvenating redundant and unloved spaces as joyous places. In all our developments we look to create both private and communal areas to foster a closer community whilst maintaining the highest quality of living. As part of our social and natural environmental approach, we focus on investing resources in reinstating green areas, creating gardens with native planting, and adding sympathetic animal habitats to promote and ensure bio-diversity.

BUILDING BACK BETTER

Our performance and governance strategy

We have a duty to create a sustainable business so as to invest further and faster in the latest technologies and materials. Combined with clear goals of sustainability, this allows the creativity and flexibility to get the very best out of every location. We work to a clear set of Montreaux values. We are community-minded, caring about the environment and considering the impact of everything we do to create moments of joy. We strive to achieve outstanding outcomes by always seeking ‘better’. We take ownership of all we do and how we do it, leveraging expertise and commitment to work with precision and pace.
